3rd Winchester Scouts is run entirely by volunteers. Without people like you, there'd be no camps, no campfires and no Monday night adventures. Whether you can give an hour a week or an afternoon a term, there's a place for you here.

You don't need to have been a Scout, and you don't need to be outdoorsy. You just need to be reliable, kind and up for giving things a go.
Ways to help
Working with young people
Help plan and run weekly meetings with our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs or Scouts. Join as a leader or an assistant, or come along to lend a hand when you can.
Sharing a skill
Can you cook, code, climb, play an instrument, fix a bike or speak another language? Come in for a one-off session and inspire a room full of young people.
Behind the scenes
Not all our volunteers wear a uniform. We need help with admin, fundraising, maintenance and looking after our equipment.
Trustee board
Our trustees look after the running of the group as a charity, from finance to safeguarding.
Our new HQ
We're building a new home and we'd love help from people with fundraising, construction, legal or project experience.
How much time does it take?
As much or as little as you can spare. Some of our volunteers help every week, others once a term or just for a special event. We'll find something that fits around your life.
What support will I get?
You won't be on your own. You'll be part of a friendly team, and Scouts provides free training to help you feel confident in your role. Everyone who volunteers regularly with young people has a disclosure check, and we'll walk you through that too.
