We’re thrilled to share that Winchester City Council has awarded us £200,000 from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) to be used towards our new building.
This is a huge step forward for the project and we are enormously grateful to the Council for their support. It brings our dream of a purpose-built home for our Scouts closer than ever.
Now we need to match it
This grant comes with a condition: we only receive the £200,000 if we can match it. It’s a big ask, but it’s an achievable one, and our families, supporters and local community have already shown what they can do. Now we need everyone to help us get over the line.
Our fundraising so far
We are still actively fundraising, and our community has already done some amazing things. In the last two months alone:
Our sponsored hike raised an incredible £4,719
The Simpson family completed a series of sponsored runs as a family, running 5k, 10k & a half marathon, raising £705
The Ainscow family took on a sponsored cycle of 60km, raising £795
Bag packing brought in £550
All of these totals are before Gift Aid, which will increase them further. Thank you to everyone who have taken part, sponsored or donated. Every pound is helping.
