A fantastic weekend at Ferny Crofts
Last weekend was an amazing one for 3rd Winchester Scouts – The Worthies, as Ferny Crofts hosted two fantastic events for young people across Hampshire!
On Saturday, it was the Hampshire Squirrels Fun Day, where our Squirrels joined hundreds of other Squirrels from across Hampshire for an incredible day packed full of adventure, fun and new experiences.
Then, on Sunday, it was the Hampshire Beavers Fun Day, giving our Beavers the opportunity to enjoy another fantastic day at Ferny Crofts and experience many of the exciting activities on offer.
Across the weekend, our Squirrels and Beavers had the chance to take part in an incredible variety of activities, including:
🌲 Adventure Course – putting their climbing, balance and problem-solving skills to the test.
⚽ Aeroball – plenty of energy, teamwork and lots of laughs!
🏎️ Go Karts – racing around the track and having a fantastic time.
⛳ Crazy Golf & Frisbee Golf – testing their aim and seeing who could get the best score!
🌿 Nature Trail & Picture Trail – exploring the outdoors and putting their observation skills to the test.
🎨 Arts & Crafts – getting creative and making some fantastic creations.
🧱 LEGO – building, creating and letting their imaginations run wild.
🚂 Road Train – hopping aboard for a fun ride around Ferny Crofts.
🎪 Games Box & Circus Skills Box – learning new skills and taking part in lots of fun challenges.
🔥 Backwoods Cooking – getting hands-on and learning some brilliant outdoor cooking skills.
🏹 Archery & Crossbows – taking aim and having a go at some exciting new activities under the guidance of the instructors.
🪓 Tomahawk Throwing – testing their accuracy and concentration.
🧱 Create Stacking – seeing how high they could build while working together.
🔫 Nerf Guns – plenty of fun, teamwork and friendly competition!
🎈 Bouncy Castle – because no fun day would be complete without one!
🎪 Carnival Games – including favourites such as Hook-a-Duck and lots of other funfair-style games.
There really was something for everyone, and our Squirrels and Beavers certainly made the most of every opportunity!
The weekend was a fantastic opportunity for our young people to try activities they may not normally get the chance to experience, learn new skills, challenge themselves and make memories with their friends.
It was brilliant to see so many smiles throughout both days and to watch our Squirrels and Beavers encouraging each other, trying new things and proudly showing off their new skills.
We are incredibly proud of every single one of them for throwing themselves into the activities and making the most of such a brilliant experience.
A huge thank you to Hampshire Scouts and everyone at Ferny Crofts for hosting such fantastic events and putting so much effort into creating two unforgettable days.
From racing Go Karts and riding the road train to cooking outdoors, getting creative, throwing tomahawks and having a go at carnival games, there was something for everyone!
Our Squirrels and Beavers came home with huge smiles, lots of stories to tell and memories that will last a lifetime.
